Empty product reviews are my FAVORITE, because you know by the end of the product you’ve got an opinion and idea of how things worked. And honestly, a big reason why posts have been minimal is because there were a lot of good products. Good. Not great. Good. But hey, I’ve repurchased a few of these, so they probably should’ve gotten more love.
If you want a full review on any of these individually, leave a comment and I’ll make it happen! 🙂
Note: when I started this post my hair was LOOOOONG. There are a TON of conditioners on here because my hair needed so much. Now that I’ve chopped off 10 inches, I won’t be going through products as quickly. This list definitely isn’t everything, I just keep forgetting to track exactly what I used. Oops! Let me know what you want tested in the comments.
What it is: a detangler and lightweight leave-in conditioner.
How I use: either before or after conditioning (or both if my hair is really tangly), rake through gently to release tangles. The slip is awesome!
Rating: 9 out of 10.
Bottom line: YES worth it, I’ve already repurchased!
What it is: a rinse out conditioner with soothing oat extract as the first ingredient
How I use: This was the main conditioner in my 2020 routine and I finished it up shortly after writing that routine. Read that for full details, but I use it to lightly detangle and then as a rinse out.
Rating: 8 out of 10
Bottom line: If you have fine wavy hair, this might be your holy grail. For my thick waves it is excellent for Spring-Fall weather, I wouldn’t recommend for thick hair in dry climates/seasons.
What it is: a rinse out conditioner OR Deep Conditioning treatment
How I use: Whenever my hair needs serious moisture, I’ll use this. In the driest parts of winter, I’ll use it regularly as a conditioner. In other times it’s a great deep conditioning treatment. If you’ve tried this and thought it was too heavy, highly recommend using it as a hair mask.
Rating: 8.5 out of 10 (the scent is strong)
Bottom line: It’s SO good, will definitely repurchase
What it is: a rinse out conditioner.
How I use/thoughts: This is a pretty basic conditioner. I love how natural and sustainable Pacifica is…buuuut…….this conditioner didn’t have enough slip for my coarse hair. I found it moderately moisturizing. For my daughter’s fine hair it worked great! To me, the name is misleading, I don’t think there’s enough moisture for long hair.
Rating: 6 out of 10
Bottom line: Not for thick, long hair. Maybe fine hair. Now that I’ve cut 10 inches off my hair since I first drafted this post I’d like it better?
What it is: a rinse out conditioner
How I use: As a regular conditioner, similar to my normal hair routine.
Rating: 4 out of 10 – There isn’t nearly enough moisture or slip for my hair.
Bottom line: It’s discontinued, and I can see why. If you really love the stuff, be sure to stock up now while you can. For me, it’s a pass.
What it is: a softer hold mousse that offers definition
How I use: Once my hair is around 75%-80% dry, I scrunch into my hair. Most often I do this the next morning after showering (read about tips for showering at night here). I also use this to refresh on days 2-4 using my 2 minute refresh method.
Rating: 10 out of 10
Bottom line: MY FAVORITE MOUSSE IS DISCONTINUED. Truly I’ll need to do another post about this so subscribe. I’m bummed. I went through 3 of these since starting this post (again, my hair was suuuuuper long at first!) I did find it on Walgreens, so stock up here! I probably will buy 10 bottles. (only half kidding!)
What it is: a rinse out conditioner with really good slip for detangling
How I use: This was the main conditioner in my 2018 routine and I was excited to use it again in 2020. I’ve recommended it to so many of you!
Rating: 9 out of 10
Bottom line: It’s a conditioner that is great for thick, tangly hair that needs hydration. If you’re looking for a new conditioner, this one is excellent.
What it is: a low-poo that aims to offer volume and light hydration
How I use: As a “regular” shampoo
Rating: 6 out of 10
Bottom line: I bought this shampoo because I was dealing with a family emergency out-of-state. Once home, I gave it to my daughter who has very fine wavy hair (unlike my thick coarse hair). It worked well for her but not as well for me.
What it is: a rinse out conditioner that aims to offer volume and light hydration
How I use: As a rinse out conditioner. The slip was okay but not my favorite for detangling
Rating: 6 out of 10
Bottom line: I bought this conditioner because I was dealing with a family emergency out-of-state. Once home, I gave it to my daughter who has very fine wavy hair (unlike my thick coarse hair). It worked well for her but not as well for me. Pretty much the same as the shampoo! It’s not a bad line, just not my favorite. I’d use again but not go out of my way to purchase.
